Three Loaves in One
about 20–25
30 min
3 hours 20 minutes
Three types of bread in one! A practical and delicious recipe for hamburger buns, hot dog buns, or toast. Customize your baking to suit your needs—for example, by baking one half of the dough as hamburger buns or hot dog buns and the other half as toast. Perfect for picnics or as a snack.
Here's how:
-
1
Crumble the yeast into a bowl. Heat the milk to 25 °C, pour it over the yeast, and stir until dissolved. Add the remaining ingredients to the starter dough, mix, and let it rest for 20–30 minutes.
-
2
Knead the dough for at least 15 minutes until it becomes very elastic.
-
3
Place the dough in an oiled plastic container or bowl with a lid or plastic wrap.
-
4
Let it rest for 60 minutes, punch down the dough, and let it rest for another 30 minutes.
-
5
Turn the dough out onto a floured work surface and weigh out pieces of 80 grams each—about 20 pieces. If you want to make loaf bread, you’ll need 2 pieces; place the dough in a rectangular cake pan.
-
6
Roll the dough into round, even, smooth buns, flatten them, brush with egg, and dip in sesame seeds, or roll out the dough into hot dog buns.
-
7
Let it rise for 30–45 minutes.
-
8
Bake for about 12 minutes at 230 °C. Let cool under a kitchen towel.
