
Canadian Oat Bread

A delicious, slightly sweet bread that goes perfectly with hot chocolate.
Here's how:

Bring 5 dl of water to a boil and pour it over the oats. Stir.

Once the oatmeal has cooled, add the remaining ingredients.

Knead until the dough is elastic, about 6 minutes in a mixer, or about 12 minutes by hand.

Let the dough rise for about 45 minutes, covered.

Divide the dough into two portions and shape them into loaves.

Place on a baking sheet and cover with a kitchen towel.

Sprinkle a little flour over the bread and slice as desired.

Place the loaves in the oven at 250 °C, then lower the temperature to 200 °C. Bake for about 25–28 minutes.

- 50 g (1 packet) KronJäst for Bread, fresh
- 200 g (about 5 dl) rolled oats
- 500 g (5 dl) boiling water
- 25 g (1.5 tbsp) butter or margarine
- 140 g (1 dl) bread syrup
- 120 g (1 dl) honey
- 17 g (about 1 tbsp) salt
- 300 g (3 dl) water, lukewarm
- 300 g (about 5 dl) graham flour
- 720 g (about 12 dl) all-purpose flour
