A delicious, fruity bread. You can also easily add a bag of KronJäst whole-grain wheat or rye sourdough starter to the recipe to give the bread a bit more tang.

    Here's how:

Dissolve the yeast in the water. Mix in the remaining ingredients, except for the fruit and nuts.

    • 2

Mix the dough in a mixer for about 2 minutes on low speed and 4 minutes on medium speed until it becomes elastic. Double that time if you're kneading by hand.

    • 3

Add the fruit and nuts. Mix them into the dough for about 1–2 minutes on low speed in the mixer. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for about 30 minutes.

    • 4

Preheat the oven to 230 °C. Shape the dough into two loaves and place them in greased pans. Cover with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let rise for about 60 minutes.

    • 5

Place the loaves in the center of the oven, reduce the temperature to 190 °C, and bake for about 45 minutes.

    • 6

Remove the bread from the pans immediately after baking. Let cool on a wire rack.
