    Here's how:

    • 1

Heat the milk to 20 °C.

    • 2

Crumble the yeast into a bowl, then add the milk, cardamom, sugar, salt, butter, and eggs.

    • 3

Add the flour a little at a time and knead until you have a soft, smooth dough.

    • 4

Let the dough rise under a kitchen towel for about 45–60 minutes.

    • 5

      Make the filling:
Mix the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and grated almond paste into a creamy filling.

    • 6

Divide the dough into 2 parts, and roll each part out into a rectangular sheet. Spread the filling on top and sprinkle with grated apple.

    • 7

Roll up and cut each piece into 12 pieces. Place them in muffin tins or on a baking sheet.

    • 8

Preheat the oven to 200 °C.

    • 9

Let the buns rise under a kitchen towel until they double in size, about 45–60 minutes.

    • 10

Brush the buns with beaten egg and sprinkle with pearl sugar and slivered almonds.

    • 11

Bake the buns in the center of the oven for about 8–10 minutes.
