Making your own pizza dough is guaranteed to be more fun than buying it ready-made. Let everyone choose their own toppings as a fun activity in the kitchen. Don't you tend to appreciate food even more when you've helped make it yourself?
This is a recipe from one of our readers and was not created or tested by KronJäst.
Here's how:
-
1
Crumble the yeast into a bowl. Heat the water to 20 °C, pour a little of the water over the yeast, and stir until the yeast is completely dissolved in the water. Add the rest of the water, oil, and salt, and stir.
-
2
Add the wheat flour a little at a time—feel free to use a food processor or an electric mixer with dough hooks—and mix until you have a smooth dough.
-
3
Let the dough rise under a kitchen towel for 30–60 minutes until it has doubled in size.
-
4
Place the dough on a floured work surface and knead until smooth. Roll out the dough to the desired shape and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or in pizza pans. The dough is enough for 2 baking sheets, each about 25×35 cm, if you want thin-crust pizza.
-
5
Spread the tomato sauce on the crusts and top with your choice of filling. Bake at 225–250 °C in the middle of the oven for 10–15 minutes.
