Carrot Buns
30 min
1 hour 30 minutes
Buns with grated carrots.
This recipe was submitted by one of our readers and was not created or tested by KronJäst.
Here's how:
-
1
Heat the milk to 20 °C. Then stir in the butter.
-
2
Crumble the yeast into a large bowl. Pour the milk mixture into the bowl and add salt. Add the grated carrots, all-purpose flour, and rye flour to the bowl, and knead the dough thoroughly, either with a stand mixer or by hand.
-
3
Let the dough rise, covered, for 30 minutes in the bowl.
-
4
Shape the dough into 18 buns and let them rise, covered, for 30 minutes.
-
5
Bake the buns for about 9–10 minutes in the middle of the oven at 225 °C.
Tip!
- The buns stay fresh and soft for about 4 days, but they freeze really well! You can also make a loaf of bread instead of buns—just bake the bread in the oven for about 15 minutes.
