If you have some stale white bread left over, it’s perfect for making French toast. You’ll also be reducing food waste at the same time. Sustainable and delicious.
Here's how:
-
1
Whisk together the eggs, sugar, salt, and milk until smooth.
-
2
Turn the bread in the batter so that it soaks it up thoroughly.
-
3
Heat a skillet, add a pat of butter, and fry the slices of bread until golden brown.
-
4
Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl; you can omit this for a heartier loaf.
-
5
Place the toasted bread on a plate and immediately sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon mixture over it.
-
6
Serve with fresh berries or jam and whipped cream.
