
Chocolate Bread Pudding

Bread pudding is a great way to use up leftover bread. It’s sustainable, simple, and very tasty.
Here's how:

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Cut the bread into cubes, and soak the raisins in a shot of dark rum; let them sit for about 10 minutes.

Whisk together the butter, milk, sugar, and eggs. Season with cardamom. Arrange the bread cubes in a large ovenproof dish, alternating layers with raisins.

Pour the egg mixture over the top. Top with coarsely chopped chocolate. Bake in the oven for about 24–26 minutes, until the mixture has set.

Let it cool slightly and serve with lightly whipped cream.

- 8 slices of white, dry bread
- 100 g (about 1 dl) butter, melted
- 500 g (5 dl) milk
- 90 g (1 dl) granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 180 g (3 dl) raisins (soaked in 1 cork of dark rum)
- 2 krm cardamom, ground
- 8 squares of dark bitter chocolate, 70%
Topping
- 2.5 dl whipping cream, lightly whipped
