Why not give a delicious, filling loaf of bread to someone you care about—either on a whim or as a gift for a get-together? KronJästhas baked a delicious sports bread that’s just as great to give away as it is to eat yourself. A wonderfully hearty loaf that’s perfect for a lunch sandwich or as a pre-run snack.
Here's how:
-
1
Dissolve the yeast in water at about 25 °C. Add the remaining ingredients and mix everything together—about 2 minutes on low speed and 3 minutes on high speed. Double the time if you’re kneading by hand.
-
2
Let the dough rest in the bowl for about 40 minutes, covered with a cloth or plastic wrap.
-
3
Turn the dough out onto a floured work surface, handle it gently, and shape and roll it into a rectangle about 1 cm thick.
-
4
Cut out the desired size, about 7×13 cm
-
5
Place the loaves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rise under a kitchen towel or plastic wrap for about 60 minutes.
-
6
Preheat the oven to 250 °C. Place the bread in the oven and lower the temperature to 230 °C; bake for about 15 minutes on the bottom rack.
