    Here's how:

    • 1

Dissolve the yeast in the water, then add the salt, oil, and flour.

    • 2

Knead until the dough is smooth and shiny, about 7 minutes in a mixer or 12 minutes by hand.

    • 3

Let the dough rise, covered with plastic wrap, for about 1 hour.

    • 4

Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll the pieces into balls and let them rest for a while, covered with a kitchen towel.

    • 5

Roll out the pieces to about 15 cm in diameter and place them on two baking sheets lined with parchment paper.

    • 6

Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 250 °C.

    • 7

Brush the bread generously with olive oil and press indentations into the bread with your fingers.
Add your toppings and, if desired, a little pesto.

    • 8

Place the bread in the oven. Reduce the temperature to 220 °C and bake for about 10 minutes.
